In the early 1980s the US Park Police stopped a guy for DWI on the GW Parkway in Virginia.

In the trunk they found a .45 ACP Mac-10 style SMG,  with a suppressor.

A virgin MAC-10, with no markings whatsoever.

A search of the drunk's house  yielded dozens more.

So finding one like this isn't a surprise.

People in appalling conditions in the tribal areas of Pakistan and thatch huts in the Phillipines make workable guns with hand tools.

Any surprise is more in the type of machining and overall quality exhibited. These aren't stamped-steel guns welded up in somebody's garage.

Seems to me, with the availability of programable mills and the explosion in computer power it is probably cheaper and faster and more precise to mill guns than stamp them nowadays.  And easier to keep secret.

I like how they didn't have a big enough table for the grenades, so they took a picture of them and put that out, but apparently that didn't look snazzy enough so they put out two of the same picture of grenades. Ghey

Got quite a  few firearm books, and firearm pricing guides I managed to buy, or get from relatives as gifts growing up in the 1980's to mid 1990's. But just looking the picture, am I wrong in thinking someone in Eastern Europe is messing around with a old school PM-63 line from the bad old days, but altering it a bit, and making it use Uzi magazines? Not quite the same, but sure looks like a modernized one. Could be wrong, but by looks makes me wonder.

Edit: Inner Grammar Nazi yelled at me.

Lies ! We have strict gun control over here.

The is no way for a law abiding peron im my contry to have a gun in the home for lawfull self defence, at least we have that(*)

You can own Full Auto's here but it is a huge hassle and the collectors club (of which  you have to be a member)  has to like you. You cant shoot it without a special special one time license for which you have to have a scientific reason to shoot it.

(*) being that that is the point of gun control in the first place

Yeah, build up some "assault weapons", stamp "USA" on them and then spread them around Europe (the world) and help prove your point that America's Second Amendment is the cause of so much violence in the world today.

Yeah, I'm sure they think that'll help them in their fight to disarm the United States.

Thought the Finns could, though that may have changed.

Since 1998 the answer has kind of been Yes and No. The EU Firearms Directive assings full auto firearms to prohibited Category A, so they are by default banned. Article 6 para 2 establishes a possibility for a national exception in special cases when such exception is not “contrary to public security or public order”.

In Finland full auto firearms are nationally classified as “Specially dangerous firearms” (really, that is the official translation of ERVA) and licenses are granted only for collectors. And a firearms collector is a special status, a class of a licensed firearms owner, which requires a very extensive application procedure and often takes several years to pass. In addition, the collector needs to have an additional approval for the collection plan or an amended collection plan to include full auto firearms.

So technically you could apply for a firearms collector status and state that your collection plan is illegally manufactured full auto machine pistols of recent manufacture and if granted, you could go to the police auction of confiscated firearms and legally bid for and win just such a machine pistol as in this thread (or a Turkish blank firing gun illegally adapted to fire full auto .380 ACP for example).

The chances of that actually happening with all the twists and turns of the licensing process to be succesful (even after appeals to administrative courts), is currently from nil to none.

Most military firearms collectors just have Suomi SMGs, Maxims, some full auto AKs/ARs, Uzis, the more common stuff. The most peculiar SMG to be found in numerous hands of Finnish FA collectors is probably this firearm:
