Ok playoffs are finally here. Time to make predictions. Winning teams are in red. AFC Wild Card Game Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts Colts bring out their A team and spank Broncos for the 2nd time in 2 years. Today Broncos just beat the backups. New York Jets at San Diego Chargers Jets are sucking lately. They lost 3 straight and lost all the momentum. NFC Wild Card Game Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers Another Viking collapse. They're a dome team who plays awful on the road. It gets too cold for Randy Moss and he walks out again. St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks Rams regained their momentum, beat a good Jets team and will beat Seattle again since they already beat them 2 times earlier this season. |
I do not ever agree with a coach that benches his starters. Momentum is important and not playing for a week or more can be devastating to a teams ability to play cohesively. I am not an NFL coach and I do not know better than them, but I do not agree with these kinds of strategic decisisons. Sunday is going to be hard for me. My two favorite teams are playing each other in a playoff game. Either way I win, but either way I lose. |
Back in the 80s, the Jets made it into the playoffs after starting 10-1...and losing the next five games. I have a hard time believing Indianopolis can make it to the Super Bowl. Sure, they could get even hotter than they are now and smoke through the field, but beating NE and Pitt in consecutive away games seems unlikely. In any case, this year's playoff matchups are pretty good, IMO. |

It is really hard to be a Vikings fan. They just can't understand that a defense is necessary to make it in the playoffs. I don't blame Randy Moss at all for walking away with :02 on the clock. It hurts like hell to watch the Vikes "special" special teams and defense, or lack thereof. Mike Tice should be given the pink slip, along with the defensive corrdinator. I liked him as a player, but there's just something about him now that rubs me the wrong way. I've been a Vikes fan for 25+ years, so I should be accustomed to disappointment. I'm jumping on the Steelers bandwagon. Deshea Townsend, #26, is from my hometown and we went to the same high school. I graduated with his older brother, and my wife was one year ahead of Deshea. He is a super nice guy from a great family. Go Steelers! |
Well, the Eagles can't go out early, since they have a first-round bye. If Green Bay beats Minnesota (which I think they will handily), then the Eagles play the winner of the St. Louis/Seattle game, and I don't see either team beating Philly. If Green Bay were playing Atlanta at home, I'd give them the edge (although Atlanta has beaten them at Lambeau Field in winter); but in the Georgia Dome? No chance. Atlanta will go to Philly for the NFC Championship and, with Owens' injury, the Eagles will have just the excuse they need to pull the big choke. Super Bowl XXXIX will be Steelers vs. Falcons and, while I will be cheering like a madman for Atlanta, the Steelers will be damned tough to beat. GO FALCONS!!! |
How would you be acting had Manning and company played in whats an essentaly wothless/preseason game and the Edge ripped up his knee? I didnt like losing but we didnt show them anything and they struggled at times against our back ups. When Im in my seat and watching Manning carve up the donks and our D playing with all of the starters containing jake the turd herder it will be sweet. You have to keep your eye on the prize and do whats best for the superbowl run. |
