Well technically I haven't received her yet but I pulled the trigger on a new 2025 D18 Martin today. Im super stoked! Fuller guitars had it on sale and combined with no sales tax and free shipping I couldn't pass her up. Should be here next week and will post some pics when I get her in my hands. Here is a pic from website. Attached File Update: finally got a pic of this beauty…She is gorgeous and that aroma when the case is first opened and I might add the guys at Fuller are amazing. They had a 15% of sale, no sales tax for out state and free shipping. Made it very easy to pull the trigger. Congratulations! I got a Martin licensed item.. A OOO-28 AMI open headstock. It is "very similar" to its Martin namesake. It plays well, but not quite as easily as my Washburn Heritage Series Parlor guitar. I look at Martins from time to time, but it's hard to get past my memory of "almost" purchasing a new D-28 for about $500 back in 1969. Sure wish I'd bought one back then.  Here's those 2, mentioned above..

My first guitar was a Martin DM that I bought new while in college back around 2001. I still miss that new guitar/wood smell. The DM isn’t made any more, and it was considered more of a budget model, but it still sounds amazing and is USA made. I wonder if they discontinued it because it sounded so amazing when compared head to head with some of their more high-end models. At some point, I will likely get either a D28 Modern Deluxe or HD28 in either Sunburst or Ambertone and add an LR Baggs Hifi Duet pickup system to it

There really is nothing quite like an old D-28 that has opened up. Remember you gotta play 'em to make them sounder betterer! This one has been with me for coming up on thirty years of its more than 50 year lifetime. I'm on the third set of frets and it'll need a neck reset next time she goes in. Attached File |
