I see many of the other Mod's and some of the staff have their real first names as the member name here.

What do you think I should have as mine?
Ric (my first name)

I am a conservative.

I like change. Change brought us M1 Garands. Change brought us M14s. Change brought us AR15s.

Change brought us medical advancements, new vehicles, air travel.

Change brings alot of good. In some cases, it doesn't. This is one of those cases.

Keep your original.

Nah leave it, it's too confusing when guys change their name and/or sig pic. Besides if we all start changing to our real names I will end up being Bob12469738, Aimless is dumb but it's better than that.

I just mentally translate back to the original name anyway i.e. lotsa number guy was "atgm" or something like that

Keep your old one.  If people really want to know your first name they can go to your user info.

Changes of this sort NEVER work.  Remember Necromancer and Lamadong?  Remember what happend when Coke changed?

But considering the name "Joliqua Nutbagh" might have a bright future for you.

Geez, every so often we go through this.  A reminder--some of us old farts can barely keep one name straight times 30,000.

[RED]NO NAME CHANGES ALLOWED, DAMMIT!![/RED]

Uh, thanks.  [:)]

Sooooo......you think by changing your username, you stand a better chance of being a mod or on the staff?  Why dont you just ask them that you're interested, and to put you on the short list if they need anyone?

the name "hey you!" works, but then again, it would work for everyone... nevermind!

"Ric" is better than your current name, but I do think Tyler Durden should take his old name back.

or maybe Ranger Ric?

I have thought about changing my board name because it doesnt really suit me anymore.  But people know my by it.  So i havent changed it.  I would keep "M4_Aiming..."  if i was you. It is original, and that is how people know you.  "Ric", would just be some new guy that cant think of an original name.  If you really want people to know your real name you can "sign" your posts like i do.

Change your name?  Nope.  Don't like it.  Don't like it one bit.

I never did quite get the name changes.

I suppose one might think of a new, more witty moniker, but it's so damn confusing to me.

I see guys with 2500 posts and a name I've never heard of and I totally baffled.  It takes me a good 250 more posts to get an idea if I should bother reading the posts or not.  Just when I start to know someone then the change and POW, it's like starting all over again.  Makes me suspicious more than anything.  Like one is hiding from pissing people off too much.

Stick to M4...  It's unique.

And the board should have a mandatory system where for about a month after a name change, the former name is displayed next to the avatar.
