| well, the wife has been freaked out, understandably so, by our creepy neighbor. now she finally wants to get her carry permit and sell the rifle she never uses and get a pistol. I am trying to find a pistol for a small women who can't handle a hard trigger pull. She liked the M&P9c and G26 but I need a holster for those for her to keep it secure in her purse. She likes my PM9 but I don't think she can handle reloads and clearing drills with it. Any help for a pistol recommendation would be greatly appreciated. |

Buying your wife a gun or soliciting info from us is kind of like doing the same for a pair of track shoes. Would you really go down to the lady footlocker and pick out a pair of running shoes for her based on your opinion of what you think would fit her? Would you trust our opinions even though we have never seen her feet or how/where she runs? Nope. You would take her to the store and let her pick it out. you would have her try on many types of shoes and even run in some of them. So that is the advice I will give. Take her to the gun store and see which gun fits her hand, which one can she operate, reload and clear jams? Find a shop/range that rents guns or buddies that will take you two to the range and let her shoot a bunch. That 2” lady smith revolver may be just the thing. then again maybe a glock 19 or a S&W model 60 or that compact Sig is a better choice for her. In the end she has to shoot it and save your life and hers with it so it better be the one she wants and feels more comfortable with. Good luck. |

Go to your local range and rent likely prospects for her to shoot. When she finds one she likes buy it. Each person is differrent. My grandmother wanted a handgun and she tried auto and revolvers. She settled on a ruger sp101 357 mag. She shoots 158 grain federal hydroshocks. It was the last thing I expected a 97 yearold 4ft woman to handle but she likes the big bang. 5 shots groups you can cover with your hand at 15 yards |
There will be no rentals? Me no understand. But then when I want to buy a new car I will go out and rent one for a weekend and drive it all over the place just to see how it runs without a salesman breathing down my neck. Are you sure she is no ambivalent about the whole thing? Most ladies have definite opinions about what they do or don’t like. I am sure she does. There is noting wrong with pepper spray (I like Fox Labs). What has she shot so far? What does she know how to shoot well? The smaller the gun the greater the recoil. The larger the gun the greater the weight but less recoil. She needs to find a happy medium. Or just buy her a little s&w scandium 357 and have her shoot 38 specials in it. Good luck. |
| She can't pull the trigger on j frames. There is nowhere here to rent and her friend is being a bitch about letting her try a G26 as she hasn't even fired it herself. She has fired my G19 and was very good with it but wants something smaller. I'm gonna let her shoot my Kahr PM9 but she doesn't have very much strength in her hands. |

well if she likes and can run the Glock 19 GREAT! there are a lot of folks that will reduce or reshape the grip to make it fit her hand. Lone wolf distributing is one. They can really take a lot of meat off and still keep the gun durable. Personally I think the subcompact Glocks are a little “chubby” for most ladies hands. |
