I have a Dual XDMR7700 that I put in my truck about 2.5 years ago.  I bought it because it uses the generic XM tuner versus a proprietary one, it has a jack for an ipod, and it wasn't too expensive. Up until today, it has worked great.  Today I went to turn down the volume, and the volume went up!  No matter which way I turn the volume knob, the volume goes up.  Same with treble, bass, fade, etc, they all go in one direction regardless of how I turn the knob.

I came home and pulled the fuse for the radio, thinking it might "reset" it, and while the channels get reset and the volume goes back down, it still has the same problem, and the volume only goes up.

Any ideas?  Is this a "physical" problem that I might be able to fix by taking the faceplate apart, or a logical problem which basically means I'm screwed?  It's well out of warranty so it's not like I can make things any worse...

Do you have a remote?  Perhaps something is sitting on the volume up button.

Reset button didn't fix it either.

It's a Dual, that's par for the course on low end units, reliability is not their strong point.

Yeah, when I went on eBay to see if I could find another one, there were more broken units listed for parts than there were working units!
