I Enlisted in the PA Army National Guard on December 11th 2006, My ship date was February 26th for one week Pre-IET and then i had my orders to report to BCT on March 2nd. long story short, i injured my knee on March 1st and was Medicaly disgualified from shipping to BCT. i had Arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage and bone chips on May 25th. i also had some breathing probelms that have since gone away and were caused by a chemical i was inhailing at work that caused nine other employees to have the same problems. i am being discharged from the Guard. My Question is this; once my discharge goes through is there a wait before i can try to re-enlist, and if not, what other documents will i need other than my discharge paper work, and my medical papers from my surgeon stating i'm 100% on my knee and i have a Pulminary lung study saying i'm good to go on my breathing as well? Thanks in advance Chris Smith |

Are you planning on returning to the Guard or going Active? Each ste has different standards for their Guard, so you may want to check out your possibilities with surrounding states if PA doesn't want you back. For AD, you will need pretty much every single medical document concerning your conditions that you can get your hands on. The most important one is the one that says you are completely recoverd and no longer under the care of a Physician. Take all of it to your local Recruiting staion and they will submit a MEPCOM 2807 along with your documents to MEPS. You should have a yes or no answer within a couple of weeks, depending on how high it has to go. Be prepared to go to MEPS for a physical and return without enlisting. |
