As the title says, I need a new computer. I don't play games so I don't need anything fancy though I'd like the option to if I feel like it. I need something that'll surf the web, that has a good sized hard drive and enough RAM for photos and some home video editing. I also don't need a monitor but I would need a switch to swap the monitor between the home and work computers. Con I find something decent desktop for around $500-$600?

I'd go to Walmart.
Get something cheap with a good sized hard drive. It's going to come with everything you going to need/use. And the return policy is good if it's a lemon, which is unlikely. The big companies are still pushing for that $1000 price point. A fully functional no gaming PC should be around $500. |
