I use the Masterlock cable locks at work for ladders and such.

A thief will take what a thief wants. I was at one jobsite that they broke into the site next door and stole the welders cutting torch. Used the torch on the back door of the building we were working in and cut open the electricians gangbox for tools.

With the advent of the cordless bandsaw it is hard to trust any cable or chain.

I lost the key on a 1/2" diameter cable lock for my generator, I was shocked how quickly my 4" angle grinder cut through it in under thirty seconds!

No.

Locks, cables, chains, fences, safes, and vaults can all be broken with the right tool(s). They just keep the opportunists at bay.
