I have some sensitive 240 VAC electronics that require a fast-blow fuse as close to the unit as possible. Problem is, unless I'm just an idiot, I can't find anywhere to get a fuse holder/box/block etc that makes this safe and easy. I guess I had imagined that I could stroll down to the hardware store and buy a small electronic enclosure that had fuse holders built in with terminals to connect the wires. That isn't the case.
Any help? I did find that Eaton makes something that mounts on a DIN rail, has screw terminals for the wires and completely encloses the fuse so energized metal isn't exposed, but so far I've struck out in actually finding them. |

Search for "finger safe fuse block" on ebay, is that what you're looking for? Yes!!! I guess I just wasn't searching the right thing. BTW, thank you, the first result on ebay was a misspelled auction for a Bussman OPM-1038R. I looked at the data sheet and it's pretty much exactly what I had hoped for (surface or rail mount, intended for 3-phase but will function on single-phase, and look very nice). Anyways, the misspelled auction (actually buy it now) was super cheap, as-in less than half the price of any others on ebay and less than 10% of new cost... it's bought, paid-for, and should have it next week!!! |
