| We are driving to San Antonio and I was thinking about stopping at the Johnson Space Center in Houston for the kids to see. I will be carrying in my vehicle. Do they have a checkpoint like a military post? If they do can we bring it in the gates. Not going to carry on my person just wanted to know if we can get in. Thanks |

It's been a long time since I've been, but I don't remember any "check points".
Space Center Houston is the visitors center there and it's pretty much like a big museum. Just a regular parking lot, IIRC. info here discount tickets (You should make a quick run over to the San Jacinto monument and the Battleship Texas while you're at it. |
Took the family last Summer. There was an entrance gate, but they did not "check" the vehicle. Things may have changed though. Got to the entrance of the tourist center, and the security guard was checking bags/purses etc. No frisking or anything like that. They offered to "hold" my pocket knife, but I decided I'd walk it back to the vehicle myself. The kids had fun. Make sure to go see the Saturn rocket. Very impressive.
