I have a PS3 a friend gave to me because it was broken and he has more money than sense.

I have no idea what's wrong with it, although it does sound as if there is something inside of it moving/sliding around.

I have no receipt, box, or even date of purchase for it, so I can't just exchange it for another. Not to mention, my brother in his infinite wisdom thought he could fix it himself so he cracked the case seal and voided the Sony warranty.

Is there anything I can do?

Any reputable console repair shops with decent prices?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Where I used to work recently started doing repairs.  I can stop in and ask about it for you?
It's three blocks from me so....I'm there a bit.
