I just got back from a sporting goods store trying to
purchase a AR and got a delayed status on my 4473
what is the problem....I will glady talk to someone
about what my background is but need it to be via pm or
email so I dont have my dirty laundry all over AR-15.com
nothing bad at all or I wouldnt have tried to go buy one??
I am not a felon and no misdemeanor domestic violence
on my record but I do have some other issues but that
shouldnt bar me from purchasing one....please help

i get delayed all the time. no biggie. just come back the next day and pick it up.

the general consensus is that your name is the same as a restricted person's, so there is a delay while they determine you are (or are not) the restricted person.

the typical preventative measure is to put your SSN on the form.

If there is anything at all on your criminal record, you will be delayed. As long as you have nothing disqualifying you, don't sweat it.
