I know this has been done a few times, but I have a little different twist.

I need boots in 16 wide

They also need to be black.

I would highly prefer them to be side zip, but at this point I guess I can't require that.

Any ideas?

Damn..you have big feet. I was going to suggest 511 boots but they only go up to size 15.

I just placed an order for the Belleville 700's.  There are other models that are in black.  I wear a 14 and have a narrow foot.  So all the boots I've ever worn have kinda wiggled on my feet.  This is the only brand that has boots that big and in all widths.   I just found these and people I work with say they are incredibly comfortable.  I guess I'll find out in a week or so.

Depending on the maker, I wear from size 13EE to 15EEE. I looked quickly at the place I usually shop online and they had one pair of Black boots in 16W using 'search-by-size'. Visit www.bigfootwear.com and you can 'search by size' from the menu in the upper left corner. The last time I ordered from them I actually got my boots the very next day with standard shipping. I'm on Long Island in NY and they're in NJ (Next state over to the West.), I'm sure that had to be a factor.

My other suggestion, seriously, The Sportsmans Guide. They also let you 'search by size' with a lot more choices when I took a quick look for 16EE. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ever ordered from them. Plus, I am sure someone here has a coupon code for you to save a couple bucks, too.
Good luck!

Try these guys, Whites Boots, the are known for making the best, custom work boots around. Especially their wildland firefighter boot. Not sure about the side zip, but worth a look.

Good luck!

Try killing two black angus cows, cutting a hole in each and slipping your feet in.

Holy cow that is a huge foot.

My brother wears a size 16 as well. He found a pair of the Oakley Assaults on Ebay for something like 50 plus shipping. He says they are comfortable as hell and wears them all the time. I looked on Oakley's  website though and they list the biggest size as 14. I'm waiting to hear back from him on what size his are for sure.

I just got a pair of the new Danner Acadia Elite GTX's.  Very comfortable, and light.  I ordered them directly from danner.com .   They took about a week to get here.

As someone else mentioned, try Belleville Boots.  www.bellevilleshoe.com  It does have boots up to size 16. You can find them cheaper than their websites lists them if you google it.  I just ordered some off of www.botachtactical.com
