I am just burnt out. I need a brake from everyone/thing. I use to be able to take five classes and get As and Bs in all of them. Now I can barily pass one. I need to fininsh this degree and take a brake. From school.
Vent done. Now how to get my energy back. After finals I'm going for a weekend get away and do what I find the most fun and relaxing. That is flying & shooting. What I want to do is take a weekend and fly to Texas. However, I do not have the instrument rating. I do not want to go to another state with out it. Done it twice and almost crashed each time. I could ask cousin Bob if I can stay at his cabin in Georgia, it is a days drive away and my dad would want to come along. There I could shoot/hunt all weekend, but I do not think that he will say yes. I really want to get away. I always feel better when I'm in the woods. Maby I can get Hickory Hammock for a long weekend camping/hunting trip. I need a hunting buddy, I know that my Dad will go at the drop of a hat, but I do not want to spend all my get away time with him. I need hunting friends, most of my friends are city slickers. Isaac is not, but he is 17. Jordan, he is extremely immature.Jon, maby if his wife and my sister were not feuding. AFRCOM guys from Florida, don't know/trust them. B) Reduce your class load or stop getting drunk and partying. C) You're almost at winter break. Use the opportunity to reflect on all of the time you've wasted not working toward your goals. D) If you have no goals, you are spinning your wheels and wasting your time. E) Millions of people have been in your position and have managed; so will you. |

Just hang in there. Find a motivator. I found that when I connected with my profs - got to know them outside of class - it would get my head in the game because I didn't want them to think I was blowing them off. It's too easy to just wander apathetically, so sometimes you need to play games like that. Don't worry about not finding a job, everything is pretty much fucked right now. Keep trying, but don't take your struggles now as an indication of low worth or lack of potential. For young people today who aren't yet established in their careers, it's a bloodbath. You can hunt alone. I actually like the solitude sometimes. It can be fun with a friend though too. Getting outdoors is a great way to clear your head when things are crappy. I realize this is just a rant on a message board so don't sweat any misspellings or whatever. However, you can learn something from the response - the world is full of dicks. You have to stay a step ahead of them if you don't want to take shit. That can be a motivator too. You have to be optimistic if you want to give your goals a real try. Negativity shows, and it doesn't sell. Good luck and stay positive. |

Not to dog-pile, but having taught at a major Midwestern university known for its basketball, and having had a number of students with a variety of learning disabilities, let me opine that your post does not bear the marks of a dyslexic. It bears the marks of a person with poor grammar and usage skills. |

You can get a hint about your academic and job problems in your post. As for flying to another state without an instrument rating, you do realize those boundary lines on the map aren't marked on the ground, don't you? Let's say you want to fly the entire length of Florida from St. Augustine to Miami. Now let's take a trip from Pensacola to Nashville. See the difference (besides flying flying South on one trip and North on the other)? You don't need an instrument rating, you need VFR flying proficiency. |

Didn't know there was a bookkeeping degree? Maybe accounting? OK, cut the kid some slack. I imagine many of us have been brain fried at times in college, most of us are just too old to have posted on the web about it. Personally I just drank myself stuperous... OP, get some sleep. Worry about the classes you need to take, and then blow off life for a year. Go to Alaska like I did. Or Europe (though that was too expensive for me). Or maybe get a girlfriend.  It'll clear up your acne too...
