The wife and I do as does her family.

Considering its free its worth playing.

Gameplay feels like a mix between Tera and anyone other MMO.

Graphics / animations are a mix of GW2 and Rift.

Being a DnD based game its definatley more tuned to the quester / dungeon crowd.

PVP is a bit broken as class balance is far from done.

In all its a solid title and a good hold over until the next big title.

I'm playing it in my spare time. The crafting is weird.

Huge AH exploit allowing people to set negative values for AD allowing them to amass any amount that would fit in the box for any thing they bought.

In other words, get item+300,000,000 AD.

They then used this to buy Zen.

Is it a lot like the previous Neverwinter Nights games?

If so, I think it will make for an awesome MMORPG.

No, it plays like TERA.

It's not a Neverwinter Nights game, it's a game based in the same world. It also uses 4.0 rules.

I will still give it a try.

It is free after all.

It is not a true 4th Ed game.  Its to 4E what Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance was to 3rd Ed.

Is it live now?  I played a couple hours in one of the beta weekends a few months back.  I felt pretty indifferent about it.  I'm a huge D&D/NWN fan and the 'new' 4.0 Ed world changes just irritate me.

But, yeah it's free, I'll have to give it a try.....

(I assume 99% of the players are running around as Drow, dual-wielding swords and their names are all variant spellings of Drizzt?)

(I'm a Drow PC purist.  I hate the Drizzt dorks....)

I hate control wizards. They have no understanding of their spells.

It's an alright game. The combat system is good, the character customization is lacking.

IMO this is not D&D. It might be the same setting, but there is a remarkable lack of choice; which is what made D&D.

With the exception of the graphics and the combat system, DDO is a better game.

Yeah, I know.  My rogue cant even use a bow or crossbow.  :(

But it is free so no harm no foul.

I am. Very little to do once you are 60.
