When landing in a helo, the first thing you need to do is look for a good area to set the helo down in. You obviously want your speed to be at a safe landing speed... Slow as possible but getting it down to 0 isn't necessary. To slow your forward speed, pitch back. This increases lift and reduces speed. You'll need to reduce power when you transition to a nose up attitude to prevent climbing and gaining altitude. I haven't played in the helo too much but IIRC the number on the left side of the HUD is your airspeed and the numbers on the right are you altitude and I believe it's displayed as above ground level (like a radar altimeter) but I could be wrong on that. Sincerest appologies, sir. We were testing some things in the server and were not aware that you were an arfcommer. If you join the teamspeak server you can get in on what's going on. Today I got kicked from a hardcore server for too many team kills. I was flying a helo that was full of weenies looking for a lift. I went for a tail-drag touch and go landing. I had quite a bit of forward motion. I have no clue how but they all jumped out the instant I touched down and I managed to crush all of them. |

I thought it could only carry 4 other people. The default for tk kick is 5. I wonder if you landed on someone that was already on the ground. |

I honestly think that we started this whole Javelin/SOFLAM thing.
Before that day on firestorm with SniperKage and someone else I never saw or had anyone use that combo against me, now 1/2 of the time I'm flyign around, I get shot out of the sky with a Javelin. I think we started something evil.

Vehicle warfare certainly has changed a great deal since the game first came out. I think people have finally figured out that an organized team of infantry can make quick work of any lone wolf vehicle. Air superiority is now very team based as opposed to having a really good jet pilot that could blast everything out of the sky *cough* sleepy1988 *cough cough*
As effective as soflam is...its still pretty easy to take it down....javi locks, mav zaps, snipers, rockets etc. I have noticed that a good chopper pilot with ecm can take out a soflam very easily. It just has to be a priority target for them. Dj |

This occurred near the end of the round. edit: Not saying I couldn't have landed on someone on the ground but the helo was full. I made contact with the ground and the instant I touched I didn't get a TK, but one by one(in VERY quick succession, so I may have seen incorrectly), they disappeared from the Huey and the instant each one disappeared I got charged for a TK against that person. Either they forgot to duck and I was slicing some heads open or one by one I squished them like mancakes.

I was having a BLAST (no pun intented) blowing up tanks last night! I was Mr. Tank Buster hahaha. On Karkland, I was putting C4 on the roads and blowing M1Abrams to smitherines! Then I was tracking LAV's through the alleyways and planting on them. It was great.
On comms it would go like... DJ: Is there a Tank at B? Ground Pounder: Yesss....? *BOoooOooOoooOm!* DJ: Not anymore! *laughs hysterically* Rinse and repeat at various locations |

It was funny last night on sharqi with the soflam. I could see the javelin go over the havoc than turn around and hit it from beneath blowing it pout of the sky.
On Oman we were circling the construction towers taking out snipers and soflams with the Party Chopper. It was great. But then I got taken by a javelin....very sneaky. It doesn't even tell you when a missle is away. |

The only way I deal with it is to try to hug the walls so you can eliminate one angle stuff can come at you from. Then watch for tracers and watch your minimap. Tracers tell you roughly where someone is shooting from (duh) and the minimap shows positions if your teammates spot someone. It also shows where your teammates are getting killed, which also tells you there are some bad mothers in that area. And if worse comes to worse just develop T-Rex vision and look for movement. Nine times out of ten I spot someone because they are moving... those crafty bastards that sit still, like under a tree or behind some rubble, I never see until I'm face down dead. |

Pro tip: When you are moving from place to place LOOK AROUND. Don't just look where you are going because you miss out on what's going on to the sides. Like blinders. Scan from side to side, check rooftops, windows, usual camping spots, mini-map. Just keep scanning. Knowing the maps inside and out are a tremendous help in predicting the probability of an enemy being at a certain location.
***Server News*** So I sent in a ticket yesterday to have the server slot size increased to 48! That should allow for 6 squads on each team!
