I bought and fixed up a '94 straight six Ford for daughter.  I drove it for a while until it was GTG.  It was as clean an old truck as I've ever seen...only had one small rust spot on it.

It was a pleasure to drive.Attached File

84 Chevy long bed. 6.2 diesel. I've put 30k on it since pulling it out of a farmer's field for $300. Started and ran on the decade old feul. 1 new filter and oil changes is all its asked for.
I upgraded the factory headlights since night driving must have been iffy in those years

The 300 6cyl was no speed demon but a great motor

My 94 was my favorite , sometimes wish I still had it.  Owned 69, 79, 79, 94, and 97.  The seats in my 94 did not agree with my back and traded for the then brand new 97 which was a pos I abruptly traded for the 98 Ram Quadcab I still drive.

after 40 years of driving ford trucks, I bought a gmc. I love those old straight 6 engines. When the valves start rattling,,it means you only have another 100,000 miles to go.  Unfortunately, i need a bigger truck and the 6.0 diesel ruined fords for me. I miss the ford truck, but now drive a duramax dually.

Nice find. That 300 is a great motor.

Ive been driving a 99 F150 since I bought it new to me in 2000. Still runs and drives great and I haven't had a truck payment in something like 12 years now.

That's a good looking old truck.  OP I bet you get pissed off every month when you don't have to write a check for $600+ to pay for your new truck.

Can't DD an older vehicle around here for very long, in the winter.  Rust will eat the fucking thing due to the copious amount of salt they litter all over the roads around here.  Lots of it.  I'm more worried about that fucking up our ground water than any amount of fracking (of which, I'm not worried at all).

So, my daily is an 02 WJ, and I'm over 299,000 miles on it.  The plastic cladding hides the body rust, well, most of it.  Underneath, you can tell it's been up here its whole life though.  The 4.7 V8 has been good to me, and I got 200K out of the first trans, until a snap ring that holds the OD clutches together snapped.  Replaced with a reman trans.  Had to fix a couple of broken parts in the NV-242, also, but that was my fault.

3rd heater core will be installed in the spring, though.

Would you call an 05 with 167k  Older?

If so yes..  Bought it this past ? December  put 1k on it had a timing part fail   Due to mileage on the vehicle being its 5th owner I opted for the ford reman drop in.

Put a pioneer unit in it to replace the 6 disc changer stock unit.  Have replaced a few things, ash tray, shifter, fuel door, broken fog light, added Goodyear floor deep floor mats.
added a back up camera.

Its getting about 14 mpg now if I baby it

Gonna add a remote start next.

Have stock rims on it now with Nokian hakkapilettas

Have a spare set of rims just put Kuhmo road venture at51's on them to replace the worn out BF Goodrich all terrain TA's the last guy had on them.

has a few rust spots that I'll dive into after this winter.  Bumper has some road dings that have spotted up and there is one cab corner starting to spot up on the drivers side plus the fuel door under neath has been scratched and started to rust a little.

But I love it.. F 150 4x4 Super Crew Lariat..

I have a BMW bike we named Bonnie.. the aunt suggested for the truck Clyde.. So yeah the trucks name is Clyde

I know all too well, being from MA/CT. You can eat off the underside of old trucks here...

I was a 93 with a 5 speed V6.  Until a truck driver wanted to text and drive and put the bed of the truck next to the passenger cab.
