I'm looking to replace the inline 6 in my '79 CJ. Jasper engines run about $2500, and I just found ATK engines on Quadratec's site from $1500-1800. They come with a 3-year 60,000 mile warranty. Has anyone ever bought one of these engines? Thanks, D |

I replaced my 4.0l in my TJ last Aug. I ordered mine directly from ATK www.atk-engines.com. I found that ordering directly I saved about $200, which I assume is Quadrtec's mark up. It came with all the gaskets. It was quick and easy. I would recommend them! I also replaced the water pump, all hoses, radiator, clutch, belt, cap & rotor, wires, plugs. I did the swap in a weekend. Started Fri night and was done on Mon. Would have been done on Sun, but I had the distrbutor in 180 degrees wrong-didn't figure that out until Mon morning. Edit to add: Since last Aug. I've put about 4000 miles on it and it runs great! |
