Ok, so this is my first post, and although you do not know me, I feel like I know many of you, I have read your posts, lol!!!. Lurker, I know...However, I do have my favorite posters and know who the lightweights are, lol!! I am a patriot. I love my country and the fundamental principles on which she was founded. A small limited federal government that is constitutionally restricted and structured to secure and insure personal liberty and freedom so that you as a citizen are able by your own means to achieve your personal dreams and ambitions. You have the responsibility and duty as an American to protect your family and your county. There are tenements of liberty that should be articulated and promoted in a clear and decisive matter, and our Republican politicians apparently and sadly have been incapable of stating the obvious. To my dismay I find that our country is divided. What to do? It is simple. Don’t lose heart. Prepare for the worst, yet expect the best. This is America, my country that I love. Hold the line. Organize, prepare, attack and achieve victory, but never, never give up. I think conservatives need to take the offense now, and marginalize the compromising moderates such as the Lindsey Graham types. As honorable as they are I never want to be saddled with the compromise choices of a Bob Dole, George Bush, George W. Bush (who lost his veto pen), or John Mc Cain. I want someone I can vote for that inspires me, not that I have to hold my nose and vote for as the lesser of two choices. Nothing less than a total overhaul of the Republican party must be done, or it is time to begin anew with a conservative movement and party which articulates conservative values and principles. We don’t need Democrat light, especially now that extremists are in charge. The good news is that it should be easy to define core differences and clear choices. I like Sara, Bobby and guys like Dino here in WA State. They are the future and we must encourage them and put to pasture the Repula, bla, bla, crats. My son is a Marine. I just returned from Camp Pendleton yesterday and greeted him returning from his first MEU. Stories of glories. I am always amazed. So I am not bummed out by the election, not at all. I know the quality of our young Marines and it truly inspires me. I do want to encourage young leaders and show them the light that our founding fathers first ignited, the torch of liberty we are obligated to carry as Americans. We will prevail if we don’t lose heart and “Hold the line”. So those who are pessimistic I say shoot yourself or shut up. There are enough Chicken Little negative types in this world. Man up. Do something constructive about it. We will be doing some shooting next weekend, my son and I. He shots his personal Colt 6920 when off base here in Washington State. The Marines are so much fun. I can still hold my own with 50+-year-old eyes. I feel so much better after a few hundred rounds, don't you?
