It's a Barrett M82 (pre-A1), says Patent Pending on the side, and the flash hider was replaced with a current model. Serial # less than 200. It was a movie gun--there is an ATF trace document with it, and it has the dealer note--"sold to (movie FX company) for use in the movie ROBOCOP". It has very little mechanical wear, more like fondling wear on it (marks on the bipod from opening/closing, etc). And, including the scope (Nightforce Custom Superb 4-16x 56mm--a "pre" NXS model) it was only about 3/4 of the cost of a new one without scope. I got the scope separately a few months back, and was intending on using it on a nice target rifle (got a great deal on the scope at auction). I have been paying on it for months (hoping to pay off the balance within the time limit). AFARR If all goes well, I will have it at the May 27 shoot at Ottawa. And, yes--100 rds. of ammo runs about $140 (and that's the "cheap" stuff). |
| Has squirrel season opened yet?!!!!! A while back, at an outdoor range near where I live, this guy was firing one of those cannons.[sniper] One of his rounds went over the mound and into a power sub station several miles away, putting a big ass hole in a big ass transformer. The power company was exceptionally pissed.[pissed].........Anyway, nice gun man, color me [green]green[/green] with envy. |
