The Target department store in the South Bay shopping center in Dorchester closed early on Wednesday night after a man bleeding from a gunshot wound walked into the store and calmly asked for help, police and a witness said.
... “He said, ‘I just got shot,’ ” Chandler said, adding that customers thought he was joking at first because of his nonchalant demeanor. “He was the calmest shooting victim I’ve ever seen in my life.” She said she later noticed the man was bleeding from his back, and that he said at one point, “‘I’m going to be OK, I just need some help.’” Chandler said employees brought him a chair and police arrived soon afterward.
