So the wife unit and I got new smartphones and we got the droid 4 an now I need to know how to maximize the battery and what to turn off. Also must have apps? Thanks in advance!

Run juicedefender.

It helps some, but doing a lot of surfing/texting during the day and you will run the battery down quick.

My only complaint about the phone.
