Welcome, welcome, welcome! [beer] Before you plunk down $$, spend the time reading up on various models, manufacturers and other assorted "bells and whistles". Try the Rifles... forum here. Read and learn. Personally, as far as manufacturers, Bushmaster is a solid choice, but others have their equally -good favorites as well. As far as models, again that's based on your preferences (barrel, upper configuration, etc.) Good luck and again - welcome. [beer] |

Quoted: I personally have a XM15 A3 in 20". I love it! ditto that!!!!! would also like to add a plug for one of our very own members. Cavalry Arms makes some great stuff. just recently got a lower from them. beautiful. but it gets better. their service is unbeatable. fiance couldn't get an upper to properly mate with the lower (pin holes wouldn't align or something like that, i wouldn't know as he won't let me play with it). called up shawn and he said we could either send it back or fix it ourselves. he then told us how to fix it ourselves (since that was our choice). but it gets better. if, in trying to fix it, we frap it up (god forbid!), we can send it back and he'll replace it because he said that it shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. now if that ain't service i don't know what is. plus, he's a great guy and a member here. |

I can't believe no one has suggested this one yet!!! http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?id=60 ColtShorty GOA KABA COA JPFO SAF NRA "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them." |
| Another vote for COLT (some non mil-spec parts but a quality gun.) Read the troubleshooting type posts AND watch out for rifles that an unknown source assembled such as a name-brand lower with a no-name upper. Definetly get a warranty because you may very well need it.I like the accuracy of my BUSHY better than my COLT but my BUSHY jams and doesn't like to throw emptys out of the gun---alot of people rant and rave about BM but the one I got brand new is a total POS and I am very disapointed. If I was gonna buy another AR I'd probable take a look at ARMALITE and try to find out what everyone is shooting without hassles. |
