Who else here works nights besides me.

Good thing about night shift.

No traffic heading to work at 11pm.
Its easy to be early.
I can have hotwings for breakfast.
I can start drinking at 8am and not feel bad

Any others?

You get the thrill of sacking out at 3:30 in the afternoon, without going broke.

Not since 1996. I decided maybe college wouldn't be too bad after all.

I have been on the 2300-0700 shift for the past 8 years.
Wouldn't want it any other way.

Drawbacks....

Dogs barking, lawn mowers mowing, phones ringing, sun shining all over the place, cars honking, and having to do shit during the day can make it tough to keep a consistant sleep schedule.  At least once every two weeks I would just stay up all day and goto work tired.

The night can be so peaceful.

Night shift here 2330-0800.  Great for school.  At first the dogs barking and all the daytime noise bothered me but know I am use to it.  But some days It is hard to sleep.

So for those of you that work night shift,  On your days off do you sleep at night or do you stay up all night and sleep in the day like normal?

Me too! 11pm-9am 4 days a week, was pissed when the boss asked me to switch from days. But, after awhile I got to like it! I also get to work from home several days a week. BobK

3rd shift here.  Data center tech for a chain of hospitals.  As long as the servers are running ok then it's quiet.  No BS from management because I never see them.  :)

I get to work almost all night in an idiot free zone until about 7am when the Three Stooges management crew trickles in.

Of course we did end up with "Ralph" the "lost" stooge from the early days.
Hopefully, they will welcome him back to the day shift fold soon and peace will return to 3 rd shift. ;)

I'm working nights and have been on the night shift (mostly) for the past few years. Since I live west of work I have the sun behind me when I drive home in the morning and laugh at the backed up traffic going the other way.

I work midnight to 8am on weekends and 8pm to 8am when I have to work weekends. Day shift sucks at my work from the drive on the freeways, to finding parking, trying to get an elevator, and having too many dang bosses running around.
