After signing up on the no-call list for solicitors a couple years ago I haven't been getting hardly any solicitation calls for a long time.  Starting about 2 weeks ago, there's been a big increase in the number of charity and free crap calls I've been getting.  Does that list expire or what?

Charities are exempted from the do not call list IIRC.  There's not much you can do other than ask to be put on their do not call list.

ETA: From the FCC's website.

The Do-Not-Call registry does not prevent all unwanted calls. It does not cover the following:
   * calls from organizations with which you have established a business relationship;
   * calls for which you have given prior written permission;
   * calls which are not commercial or do not include unsolicited advertisements;
   * calls by or on behalf of tax-exempt non-profit organizations.

Surprised the supreme court hasn't overturned it on some first amendment grounds.

The reason is that corporations and 'non person' entities have 'fewer rights' than individuals do.  This is a long decided issue.

The politicans exempted themselves and charities as well.  Gotta make sure that Ms. Suzie Dogooder doesn't get on TV and complain.

Businesses with pre-existing relationships with you are free to call as well, but that should be obvious.
