| Last night some trick-or-treaters rang the door bell, and when I opened it up I noticed it was one of my neighbors from down the street with his kid. We talked for a minute and then he went on. My wife was out with my kids for about the first 40 minutes, then it was my turn to go out with them. We walked the other direction to hit a different part of the neighborhood, and we ended up at the guys house that rang my doorbell earlier. His lights were not on, but my kids rang the doorbell anyway. His wife answered the door and said "we don't have any candy!" WHAT IS UP WITH PEOPLE??? Is that not a great example to show their kids, take them to get other people's candy, but not give any to the other kids that come to your house??? My kids were fine with it, but I wasn't. Rant over. |

Or maybe they ran out. Quit being such a communist I have lived in this house for almost 18 years, and have never ran out of candy to hand out. This is a small isolated neighborhood that does not get a ton of trick-or-treaters. We usually buy 2 bags of stuff and end up with almost half of it left over. |

He probably ran out. If the light isn't on, don't ring the bell. We have people every year ring our bell after I've turned off all the lights. It gets pretty dark out front w/o a light, but they're still fumbling at the bell.
Weak rant. Lack of common sense. 1/10 |

we just moved into this nice neighbor hood and figured we would be mobbed by little trick or treaters. we put a huge bowl out on the front porch and went out to the bars for a drink. when we came home it looked like there had been one handful taken out of the bowl. i was blown away. maybe its just me but it seems like a dying holiday. it was the same in our old neighborhood. i remember growing up and we had tons of kids show up at our house and at our grandparents house. |
