| Is anybody besides me getting more sensitive to noise as you get older? Things like the TV going in the background, loud music from nearby cars, people talking loud enough to be overheard, et c. aggravates the crap out of me lately, and not just in the sense that extraneous noise is often produced by inconsiderate jerks. The noise itself actually disturbs me much more than it used to. Any experience/input? Could it be a side effect of hydrocodone (yes, I have a prescription)? |
Heh. I am getting old, no doubt. However, I am pretty much exactly as intolerant and crabby as I was when I was 21. That's why the noise thing is bothering me a bit. It's an actual or quasi-physical thing. It bugs the shit out of me before I even know that it's a given noise doing it - sort of like hunting around to find what stinks. |

I find I enjoy peace & quiet a heck of a lot more, every great once in awhile I will crank up the stereo, but not near as often as the good old days. I have also noticed that when one of those "boom cars" is behind me, that suddenly my vehicle is incapable of going even 1MPH over the posted speed limit. :D |
I am. At least certain noises. Retarded ass fuckwits on those goddamned motorcycles with no mufflers on them. Hard to describe how much I despise those ignorant bastards. Same for the 'tards who think the louder their shitty pickup is the, "More pare-ful stronger it is, yuk-yuk-yuk!" No better way to impress people than advertising, "Look at me, I'm an ignorant, genetically deficient son of a bitch!" at 200 decibels. Idiots who insist on slamming doors. Oh holy shit. Don't get me started on that one. I just finished moving to a more rural area a couple of days ago to get away from the mentally defective dipshits infesting my town. It's much nicer and more secluded here.  Maybe now I can stop fantasizing about shooting motorcycles with LAW rockets. |
