I cooked Pheasant, Quail, Chukkar and Dove for dinner tonight.
It was all really good!
I think Quail is one of the best meats out there.

My wife made salad and served corn and bread and butter.

Lots of Chukar in the desert east of me and in the hills west of me.
They are pretty tough to hunt but taste good.

I was tired and did not think about it until afterwards.

I was up early and took my 12 year old daughter to her "Junior Rifle shoot.
She is now a "Sharp Shooter" I am very proud!

In September she had 8 hours classroon instruction on a Saturday and then 8 hours on the Range the following day. (She scored a 94 on the test)

October 7th she shot and progressed through several stages during the 4 hour shoot.
Basic Rifleman
Pro Marksman
Marksman
and another I can not remember the classification.

Today she made Sharp Shooter.

After the rifle shoot we shot some clay pigeons with a borrowed Remington 1100 20 gauge.  She wants to hunt but the 870 20 gauge was too much recoil and I was trying to determine if I should get her an 11-87 Youth shotgun.

My friend brought his adult size 1100 and she barrel was too long and the stock was probably 4" too long.  She still hit 12 of 20 clay pigeons and she had never shot at a moving target with a shotgun.  I was very, very proud she did so well.

I think an 11-87 Youth 20 gauge is in her very near future!
