Some kids got into the car last night and stole a few things. The cops told the GF that if we had a camera we could catch them. She now insists on a camera setup in case they come back. It is more expensive than actually locking her car, but I have to get one.
Are there any decent cameras/recorders for around 200.00. That is all I want to spend.

A camera guarantees nothing.

The angle is critical. Also, some cameras don't do as well at night, so that's important. Lastly, if the camera has integrated IR, reflections may kill the pictures of them inside.

Ring just came out with a cordless "stick up camera" that is battery powered OR solar. Its $179.
For $3 a month it'll save the video any time someone is in the area.

You could get a two camera Arlo wireless set up for that price.

Is that a reliable brand? Hard to tell with so much junk on the market.

Arlo is made by Netgear.

Mine work OK so far. Motion detection lag is annoying, though.

Went with the Arlo 2 camera system. That plus a game cam should keep her happy. She is going to lock her damn doors also.

I've been pleased with Arlo. 6 weeks of use, always triggers the outdoor camera when we come home. Not as good inside picking up motion of my cats.

that is a Hikvision with the Nellys brand on it 2MP mini dome PZT

the other camera is a 5 mp hikvision with power zoom and focus, but the funny thing it's not auto focus so if you zoom in or out you have to fool with the focus.
the PZT camera can do patrol and autotracking, it's a great camera for only 615.00
