For iPhone you need a wifi adapter I believe.

I use Dash Commander.  So far so good.

I just moved from NH down to Tennessee last month and before we left my car was acting up.  I had the wiring harness to the transmission replaced and I replaced a handful of coils that were giving me misfires.

I purchased the wi-fi dongle that connects to the car and Dash Commander for my iPhone.  The idea was that if my car started misfiring again and throwing codes I'd be able to figure it out easily and just swap out the offending coil with a new one from the box I had in the trunk.

Fortunately I had zero issues on the way down.

So my experiences with DC are limited, but it's a nice system with a ton of info.

If you jailbreak your phone,  you can get a tweak through Cydia to let you use the bluetooth adapters called "TryOBD".

I use it with Dash Command.
