Ferrari clown show. It’s always something with at least one of the drivers. They’ve lost ground in the development race from being the clearly second fastest team at the beginning of the season.

Horner was also pressed on why he believed Wolff was courting Verstappen publicly despite the Dutchman committing to Red Bull and Horner suggested there was one Verstappen on the market. “That’s a question you’d have to ask Toto,” he said. “I always thought Max was pretty resolute in what he said in his conference yesterday. He’s always been absolutely consistent with that, with the team. “So I think it’s purely a tactic of distraction. Of course if he does want a Verstappen for next year, then I guess Jos is potentially available.” View Quote https://www.planetf1.com/news/christian-horner-takes-aim-jos-verstappen-mercedes-fiery-press-conference |

Anyone else using the F1TV data tracker and getting just the ‘welcome’ screen?

Other than that early attack by Lando, that was dull.
I hope the race tomorrow is better. |

Of note, that was Oscar’s first race with the “FIA legal floppy front wing”, as Martin Brundle put it.

Many years ago when I lived in Phoenix I volunteered to help the broadcast of the NASCAR races, you basically listen to the team and help point the cameraman you are assigned too. "Crash, 4, car 88" and everyone went there with cameras. If you saw an event, you made the call but rarely did you see it first. The cameraman at the time had a limited FOV and you could see much more. I am sure that much of that is automated and remote cameras now. This was circa 1996. I was in position for doing it during Indy races also but never did a race, only qualifying. The indy cars would suck the air out of you as they passed. Most of the camera spotters were USAF mechanics like me because a guy we knew, knew someone on the broadcast team. |

Originally Posted By tifosi: Other than that early attack by Lando, that was dull. I hope the race tomorrow is better. View Quote Yeah, fairly boring. Unfortunately, I think the race tomorrow is going to be pretty much the same. Maybe two or three important moves on track, and the rest just a boring train. One of the big reasons that I don’t like the sprint weekend is that it’s pretty much a preview of the race on Sunday. Unless someone is out of position or has an incident, not much change. |

Nice to see McLaren inch away at the constructor’s points though. We’ll see what happens in qualifying.

Things to note:
1.) The Mclaren is the best car on the grid at the moment. 2.) Max really does make the difference just like 2021. 3.) WTF is going on with Ferrari at this point, seems they do what they do every time mid season.......and shit the bed. 4.) Checo is fucking worthless and needs to be booted. |
|

Nice lap by kmag. Let's see if he can carry that through to Q3...

View Quote 1) I think the McLaren just happens to fit both drivers style well. I think fits Max's style of driving better. 2) He is, especially in the constructors without help of a competent teammate. 3) Ferrari gonna Ferrari. 4) See point 2. Also is no excuse for point 1. |

Are Alpine getting rid of the right guy? Ocon usually has been the faster of the two.

He has cost them some money because of such. Also, in typical Alpine fashion they might have thought they had a deal with Sainz at the time but didn't. |

Drivers championship is over, Max is showing why a great driver in a good car is better than a good driver in a great car.
Constructors championship? Still in play, Checo is driving like shit. |

They could get RB late in the year if Checo doesn’t get it together. |

McLaren seems to be saying “prove it beyond a reasonable doubt”, not that he didn’t go out. |
