I just wonder if that has a lock or not

It could be 1998 when they started it. The lock and the floating firing pin were done in 1998 and 2002 I'm pretty sure.

Most people don't care, but myself being a purist will never own an internal lock Smith. There are varying reports of them failing. Most of the stories I've heard of the lock engaging accidentally have been on little, lightweight J frames or the big heavy recoiling monsters like .460 and .500. You can remove them but your left with that God awful, ugly hole in the frame. They make plugs for it but still. IMHO if you have the option of a lock vs no lock gun, get the one with less moving parts if you're planning on betting your life on it. View Quote I should get puck to remove the one from my 629 |
