No nat at all, but if you're a platoon sized element and get into a tanglemenr with a Company sized element. You're out gunned. The PKM is lighter than a 240 so more were carried.

Infantry + spotter + dropper/kamikaze is straight murder. That is simply not true. Putin refuses to be interviewed. I know of four reporters who have repeatedly requested an interview, reporters who have experience in interviewing heads of state and foreign leaders. There is not a single major news organization that hasn’t pushed for an interview with Putin.

Let the weapons squad keep the M240. It works fine as a crew served weapon. But the M60E6 is a much better solution for the single person operator acting as a squad level machine gunner. Fuck the 6.8 cartridge. It is a radical solution to a problem that doesn't exist. In fact, it will cause far more problems than it solves. It is stupid to fixate at one tiny aspect of combat (armor penetration) when there are many other issues at play. Humans are never going to likely field head to tor armor capable of stopping rifle fire. Therefore 5.56 and 7.62 will continue to work well as standard small arms calibers. Just keep shooting! Enough hits will eventually achieve the desired effect, armor or no armor. At least with 5.56mm you can carry enough ammo to do a lot of shooting. And the low recoil makes fast follow-up shots easy peasy. |

UPDATE — In September 2023, it became known that there were big problems with the German-Danish-Dutch Leopard 1A5 and that Ukraine had rejected a delivery of 10 Leopard 1A5s due to a partial bad condition.
It is also said to have been discovered that of the ten Leopard 1A5s already delivered back in July, several have broken down due to similar issues. At that time, there was also no training for maintenance personnel (now there is!). New information now appears to have come to light in this regard. A report in a French newspaper quotes the commander of the Leopard 1A5 unit, who rejected the delivery at the time. According to him, they didn't just have to reject 10 Leopard 1A5s once, but twice! Not a single one of the 20 tanks is said to have worked properly. According to him, it was only old, worn-out material. After several months of repairs, 12 of the 20 tanks were made operational. However, currently they have hardly any ammunition. Unfortunately, there is no indication in the report as to how old the commander's information is. I, at least, was not aware that deliveries were rejected several times! A spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defence also spoke at the time of minor damage or defects that could be easily repaired, and the tanks should be up and running again relatively quickly. However, repair work lasting several months and the fact that, according to him, only 12 out of 20 are working again paint an entirely different picture. This may also indicate that in the end it will not be possible to deliver all the tanks that have been pledged, as some of them are simply in too bad a condition to be delivered. This could also explain why no Leopard 1A5s have been delivered for so long. The plan was actually to deliver 10 per month. However, no more Leopard 1A5 deliveries to Ukraine have been made public since the last update on the 13th of November 2023.
