Absolutely! NATO is proving what a feckless bunch of asshats they are by not having done so already.

Nato has no sway over the un.  Russia is a permanent member of the security council and cant be removed.

Best bet is for us to withdraw from the un and deport all the diplomats.  Effectively shutting it down until other nations could relocate it.

Russia was not a founding member, the Soviet Union was. So, I'm guessing an argument can be made.

I wonder how many NLAWs and Javelins have been used on abandoned tanks/trucks/etc.  on the one hand the leadership cadre would obviously want to save them for active threats, on the other hand a bunch of dudes with access to them who need to permanently disable enemy hardware? It would be so tempting…

But the cry baby socialist living with his parents who made the meme doesn't have free health care.  Presumably because we spend so much money on our military.

I'm honestly surprised that it stopped the one round. I've shot a lot of shit with 5.45 and it's pretty good at punching through steel. I'm no metallurgist but spring steel must be significantly better than regular ol' mild steel plate.

Taiwan was on the Security Council for a while until the General Assembly decided that it should belong to the PRC.  Maybe they should vote that Ukraine is the rightful holder of the USSR's seat.

I concur.

This makes me think there will be a true shock to the average Ruskie when quality of life things radically decline over the next 4-6 weeks. The fear of speaking out about it might get outweighed by the loss of first world life. That will be a turning point.

That video didn't look like it was even supersonic much less hypersonic, particularly at a low altitude like that.

I've seen supersonic fly-bys of F-14s at just above aircraft carrier flight deck level. I'd say that thing is easily moving supersonic.

Of course it was, didn’t you hear the boom?

Hmmm... had to go back and watch it again. You think that's a sonic boom? I was thinking it was the sound of an explosion, but there would be a delay in the sound from that.

A sonic boom would have been heard much sooner. That boom sounded more like an explosion.

Well...yeah. If it's 5160 (number right?) then it's tooling steel, far from mild steel. It's probably not as resilient as AR500 or something specifically designed for ballistics, but...it's also a 1/2" thick. LOL. That's why it weighs twice as much as a standard steel plate you'd shove in a vest, and barely fits in theirs.

It wouldn't be fun to wear, but I'd bet it'll stop most small arms fire.

It also makes great swords!

I think the point is we as a country do not have free healthcare because we spend it on military instead. I know that isn't really reality but that is the joke.

If you color in all the area between the farthest advances then Russia holds a lot of Ukraine but they don’t really hold it,as seen by how many convoys are getting lit up.

I find it very odd that Russia is doing this attack knowing full well they will struggle greatly suppling anything beyond 180 mile from their own border. What I was asking about earlier was is rail far more efficient than truck in general. My basic understanding it goes in this order  for efficient movement of stuff in bulk water, rail, road, animal then foot.

Yeah, but that huge convoy that everyone when on about dispersed and became harder to hit.

If its on rails it cant disperse and hide.

In ww2 our pilots took out a lot of supplies on rail cars.

Ukraine has used drones on them and doesn't even need to risk pilots to do so.

Playing with nuke simulators online the most likely result of a nuke on likely targets near me would be broken windows and maybe fallout. So yeah covering with a desk and or book and getting away from windows is very helpful.

Of course once you start getting in to the multi megaton range  the radiation with 3rd degree burns can propagate further than the dangerous pressure wave. But it generally makes more sense to have more smaller warheads than giant ones for many reasons

I don't disagree.  Though our logistic god may need to weigh in. You can move far more stuff with more organization faster with rail than by truck. This is why you want to use rail.
