ISW assessment for June 10th.
https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-june-10-2023 Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces have tactical advantages in conducting assaults at night due to Western-provided equipment with superior night optics systems. A prominent Russian milblogger claimed that Ukrainian forces are launching assaults at night because Western-provided equipment provides Ukrainian forces with “excellent” night vision optics.[13] Zaporizhia Oblast occupation official Vladimir Rogov also claimed that night assaults allow Ukrainian forces to more effectively use Western-provided equipment.[14] Russian sources have widely claimed that Ukrainian forces have started or intensified assaults at night in recent days, and Ukrainian forces may be increasingly leveraging the advantages provided by Western systems.[15] View Quote |

⚡️ Operational information as of 06.00 on 11.06.2023 regarding the Russian invasion ❗️ The main summary: ➡️ During the past day, the Russian occupiers launched another missile and air strike against Ukraine, using 8 missiles, in particular, 4 Iskander land-based cruise missiles, and 35 Iranian attack UAVs of the "Shahed" type against military facilities and critical infrastructure facilities. Air defense forces and means destroyed 2 cruise missiles and 20 attack UAVs of the "Shahed" type. ➡️ In addition, the enemy carried out 92 airstrikes and 45 attacks from rocket salvo systems. ➡️ The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, heavy fighting continues. During the past 24 hours, 35 combat clashes took place on the indicated section of the front. ➡️ Due to the lack of a legal norm regarding the deadlines for completing military service after mobilization in the Russian army, the lack of significant achievements on the battlefield, and the spread of panic about future prospects, cases of non-compliance with orders, sabotage, non-statutory relationships, and desertion have become more frequent among Russian mobilized. To solve these problems, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation made a decision according to which commanders of units and military units were ordered to identify and second such persons to assault companies for their further use in so-called "meat assaults". 🔥 Over the past day, the aviation of the defense forces has struck 16 strikes on areas where personnel are concentrated and 2 strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems. 🔥 Also, our defenders destroyed 4 enemy reconnaissance UAVs of various types. 🔥 During the day, units of missile troops and artillery struck 2 control points, 5 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, 1 artillery unit in a firing position and 4 more important enemy objects. Support the Armed Forces! Together we will win!✊ Glory to Ukraine!🇺🇦 @AFUStratCom View Quote "nonstatutory relationships" are being sent to the front for meat assaults? |

EU goes way, WAY beyond the common market that was set up a generation ago. There's an EU constitution (that was not ratified by popular vote, but by the legislatures of member states), and it goes way beyond the US constitution in creating a central government. The scope of EU legislative power far exceeds what the old US constitution does (from pre-Wickard v Filburn days, anyway), and the people don't get a direct say in who represents them in Brussels. Resistance to EU social policy is totally appropriate. IMO, when this is all over there should be a new Warsaw Pact, excluding Russia. Let eastern Europe govern their own social policy, since they're less in line with the "progressives" in Brussels. |
