The US was slapping similar grating on its armor in the past to reduce the damage from RPG hits, but it was on the sides. |

It’d be interesting if the Chinese moved on taking at least part of Siberia for the mineral wealth while Russia is so absorbed with taking the Ukraine.

This is all so bumming! I've read so many WWII books and recognize the old names of these towns as huge battles on the eastern front. Kharkov, Rostov, Kiev...and to think there's some old folks there that lived through it then experiencing this now. Peaking back at the old maps, Ukraine was HUGE back then, from the Baltic to Black Sea. The allllways hated the Russians. The Germans let them practice Christianity again there's stories in the memoirs about how they would pull out their crosses and religious things during the German occupation.
My good friend's family are Ukranian and his sister actually was on a full scholarship doing Ukrainian folks dancing (sorry I know that probably not the right term). But proud people that's for darn sure. |

Update from Central Ukraine:
I feel that the longer I am living in this shit mess that our situation feels similar to Gondor's fight against the combined forces of Mordor (Belarus and Russia), we have lit the torches calling for Rohan's aid.... Unfortunately, I also feel that Rohan (the west) is to much of a pussy to come to our aid. The fight is here and now. If we lose, Europe you are next. You dumb mother fuckers. Regardless of the evolving situation on the ground, our boys are giving them hell and showing the world the strength and fighting spirit of Ukraine. I've lived through 2 wars (Early GWOT), 4 deployments, and nothing compares to the shit these boys are facing. I am damn proud of all our soldiers and to have called this place my home. We will not leave no matter the outcome. |
