somethings fishy going on here .
the IRS  computers work just fine
they have had THREE YEARS  to be ready for odummercare.
but ?my guess is . so few have signed up they're using .....computer problems as an excuse .so not to
have to admit its a trainwreck.

what's your thoughts ?

IBM Websphere, which is the equivalent of a GM car.

Run by people not good enough to get IT jobs in the private sector, who face no performance measurements.

What did you expect? Go to your DMV, how "good" are the computers there?

IBM (and others) have made billions in the past three years, telling the gubment that they need to spend, spend, spend to get ready.

They pay software developers in Bangalore (India )50c/hour, and bill the feds $250/hour.

Now IBM gets to make more money "fixing" these systems.

It's the IBM way.

the politicians wouldn't release any details on what the rules of the markets were, what requirements were, etc.

100% right.

they can't even get the part that simply displays plans and rates working. how are they going to get the more complex interchanges with 100s of health insurance companies and between numerous govt. entities working? they're not, anytime soon at least.

Designed  to  fail  from  day  one . Was  only  supposed  to  have  an  " appearance  of  functionality " at   the  onset , only  to  fail  later  under  the  immense
traffic  generated  by  americans  wanting  Obumblecare .  If  one  were  to  look  at  the  demographics  of  most  of  those  signing  up , they  are  not  the
" affluent  healthy  young "   americans  that  they  are  looking  to  pay  the  bills , but  more  the  unemployed  catastrophically ill .  The  people  who  engineered  this  train  wreck  are  truly  crack  smokers . ( yes . . .I  mean  that  literally )

I had the same suspicion.  If everyone could quickly and easily see how badly the ACA is going to screw them, the Administration and every politician that voted for, or supports this mess would be running from a mob armed with torches and pitchforks.

The Affordable Care Act mandates Health Insurance Exchange websites. Those websites are experiencing connectivity, server, and program issues.  The websites were thrown together very quickly to do something that government has never done before.  It was plain for anyone without the bias political view that there would be serious issues.

However, these issues will be resolved slowly overtime and the Feds will be able to point to a very high number of transactions over these exchanges to justify them and attempt to justify the ACA.

The health care exchanges are a symptom of the problem. Not the actual problem. The actual problem is the government mandate (it's not a Tax John Roberts).

They got the lowest bidders to sling together a massive and complex system at the last minute probably without any kind of thorough beta testing  and now there are serious issues. I think if they wanted the enrollment portion to fail like this it's likely because nothing else is ready and they are trying to delay actually having to anything without looking too stupid. The spindoctors are billing demand as the cause of the issues; even though any somewhat savvy person should be able to figure out that's BS.

It is a Canadian firm that built it on a Chinese-owned firm's technology, and it uses Experian to verify your identity when you sign up.

No Information Security person worth a bucket of spit would have signed off on this plan.

The VA's online portal has to be one of the worst consumer experiences I have had in the internet age, and it is light years better than Obamacare sites.

Speaking of which, with the .gov shutdown, and all the plugs being pulled on their e-presence, why the fuck hasn't this shitpile started delivering 404 pages?

FBHO.

It's another major black eye suffered by the obumbo administration. It's embarassing in its level of failure. Has anyone tried to create an obumbocare account for Traygone Martin? I bet that would be hilarious! I bet he'd be approved for coverage and get a subsidy even though he's dead.

After knowing personally folks that work for the government who program computers....it's HIGHLY LIKELY that they are just incompetent and have royally screwed the pooch on the programs.

This isn't the America of the 80's and 90's. our so called professionals in government service are barely literate and more lazy than the FSA.

Well, FOX is the largest viewed "news" program with approximately 50 million viewers (some ratings company, highest viewed of all major news channels or sum such), so I would say it's a good bet lots of folks have seen it.

Its to late in the ballgame for our country to just shrug our previous ways of life, government and healthcare and adopt a more socialist approach.
