I'm in Monterrey, Mexico on the job and one of the motor officers acting as an outrider for our motorcade was hit by a truck that made an illegal u-turn this evening. He's in the hospital and I'll be going to see him in a little while with some of my guys and guys from his unit.

Say a prayer for a Mexican SWAT officer and motor cop with a wife and two kids if you're of a mind to.

He's in the ICU and still kicking. His helmet took a beating, but it looks like it saved his life.

Sounds like info the local "Blue Knights" chapter should have to read. I kept getting asked to join until I told them that I'd join when they all started wearing helmets. They stopped asking. Seems to me they think their dew-rags are sufficient. Morons.

Sorry if that ruffled some "Ride-Free" types but come on. This MotorOfficer would have left behind a family if not for his helmet.

God bless him and his family. I hope he has no long lasting problems from his injuries.
