was the the first time the drone ship footage actually made it out live during the landing, it usually loses the satellite uplink and then comes back 10 seconds later with the rocket sitting there.

They are even more amazing in person. The last landing of the Falcon Heavy (two boosters landing at the cape) was pushed from around midnight to around 3am... It was so worth driving over there and staying up pretty much all night to see with my own eyes.

I remember staying up for that launch and the pictures posted here were incredible.

Definitely something I want to see in person when the time is right.

Holy fuck 2024? To put an engine on a parachute? 5 years as in “ya I think we could probably get this done in 5 years”

SpaceX must make it look easy. ULA their main competition isn’t even planning on attempting to land a booster?

REALLY? They are gonna give Elon musk a monopoly a minimum of 10 years?

What a freaking joke. By 2024 they plan on just catching the engines, not even landing the booster. Thank God for SpaceX because without them we would probably be in deep trouble for anything space related.

Ya 2024 to put a fucking parachute on the engines.

They even lied in the video showing how unprofitable it would be to try and land the rocket! Holy cow.

they did not attempt to catch them, Ms. Chief & Ms. Tree sailed into Morehead City, not sure if they were damaged in rough seas on their way to the landing zone.

I’ve said this from the beginning. 5G could be redundant before it is even online.

They're kinda targeting different markets

Starlink would be good backhaul for remote 5G towers though.

Chokey already posted pictures of the first stage returning to port.  Look at the video of the first stage landing in this article.

It may be the first where the video did not drop out as the rocket neared landing.
