Yes it is.

Was clear as a bell an hour ago , first time seeing the stars and the Moon in about a week.
Couldn't see the launch or hear it because of the rain.
They got lucky.

in other news, the Space Force is interested in the Starlink bus for missile early warning sats

https://spacenews.com/spacex-l3harris-win-space-development-agency-contracts-to-build-missile-warning-satellites/

WASHINGTON — The Space Development Agency awarded SpaceX a $149 million contract and L3Harris a $193.5 million contract to each build four satellites to detect and track ballistic and hypersonic missiles.

The contracts announced Oct. 5 are for the first eight satellites of a potentially much larger Space Development Agency constellation of sensor satellites known as Tracking Layer Tranche 0. This is SpaceX’s first military contract to produce satellites.

NRO reveals plans for previously-undisclosed SpaceX launch this month

The National Reconnaissance Office has confirmed it will launch a payload on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral later this month, a mission on SpaceX's schedule that was not publicly disclosed until recently.

A regulatory filing with the Federal Communications Commission recently revealed plans for a SpaceX launch from Cape Canaveral scheduled for Oct. 25. But details of the mission in the filing did not match any known launch on SpaceX's schedule, raising speculation that the launch might carry a national security payload for the U.S. government.

SpaceX has launched national security missions before that went unannounced until the final stages of launch preparations. The Zuma mission, a mysterious payload launched for the U.S. government in January 2018, was not publicly listed in any launch schedules or contract announcements until the final weeks before its planned liftoff.

Nice pics Chokey , thanks !

CCAFS has an amazing history.
The fishing on either side of it is incredible but heavily regulated. I have been in there once with a badged member and it's security protocol is quite intense (understandably).
The Jetty in your top pic is a great fishing spot and the boat launch is huge with lots of free parking , it is also a great viewing area for launches.
Every now and then you can watch a sub coming or leaving , the sub base is directly across from Jetty Park.

Love the pics !

Launch of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission to the International Space Station is now targeted for no sooner than early-to-mid November, providing additional time for SpaceX to complete hardware testing and data reviews as the company evaluates off-nominal behavior of Falcon 9 first stage engine gas generators observed during a recent non-NASA mission launch attempt. Through the agency’s Commercial Crew and Launch Services Programs partnership with SpaceX, NASA has full insight into the company’s launch and testing data.

The abort on the gps flight has them spooked a bit. Hopefully they can figure out the issue.  Weird that new problems are cropping up now.

Coming up on 30 minutes.

Was going out to the Port to watch but the boat ramp at Jetty Park is packed. Grandson is out there and is heading to another location to get his boat in the water.
That's what happens on weekends.
Weather is good and lots of folks are going fishing.

I'll watch it from home.

I think they said that this was the second booster to have launched and landed six times.  Amazing.

Now they need to add Starlink internet to the drone ships so we get high quality video of the landing from the first stage and droneship.
