This just in: SpaceX announces a plan to purchase 2 F-16 aircraft to monitor airspace and warn off "interlopers".

hes got a good point, as i assume the aircraft could have actually reached the launch site area before the rocket was gone, if it was that close to launch.

I had the CC on Youtube, and there where some real gems of mistranslation...
(Vehicle is pitching downrange) "Chuckles fishing down range" (First stage chamber pressure is nominal) "Her face chamber pressure is nominal" (Throttling down the vehicle for max Q) "throttling down the tree for max Q" (Falcon 9 is supersonic) "Belkin 9 is super sonic" (Vehicle separation confirmed) "Special operation confirmed" |

Caught the launch for about 10 seconds visually , loud and proud for a good 3 minutes before it started fading out.
Caught the landing burn for about 6 seconds , the BOOM !! Not close enough for the double sonic boom , but it did echo for a good 10 seconds after that. I love these polar launches and RTLS. |

seemed to be a side flare on the landing burn, though that may be normal as we dont usually have ground shots of it?

Timing of coming events to include start of deployments
00:54:13 2nd stage engine restarts 00:54:15 2nd stage engine cutoff (SECO-2) 00:57:50 NASA's PACE-1 deploys 22 minutes until these begin. |

Thanks Chokey, both of those gifs are mesmerizing.

View Quote Landing burns cause the most soot on the boosters too , much more than the boost back burns do. This is due to atmospheric pressure at the lower altitude. |

Interesting blackout period right over the heart of Russia while they're deploying a DARPA satellite.

View Quote The boost back burn soot deposition should be minimal since the booster is not flying through the engine plume. Maybe you meant the re-entry burn. |

sweet video

8 launches / landings in a year for a single booster is impressive.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket is dominating global orbital launches in 2021
"Less than three days after SpaceX completed its 20th successful Falcon 9 launch of 2021, a small Long March 2D rocket carried the country of China past the same 20-flight milestone. Excluding SpaceX and China, the rest of the world combined completed its 20th orbital launch hours before SpaceX when US startup Virgin Orbit’s LauncherOne rocket successfully flew for the second time. In simpler terms, relative to any other country, space agency, or company, SpaceX has led the world in orbital launches for the first half of 2021 – the first time in history a single company has managed that feat." |
