The season starts in less than 2 weeks, who else is excited? Predictions?
My prediction for my team the St. Louis Cardinals: They've added some pitching and Carpender is back so I think they will do better than the last two years, but Im still not convinced theyll take the division. I think the Cubs have a fighting chance at the NL Central again. Next.... |

Rootin' for the Mariners here. We're gonna miss Ibanez, but we got a good middle relief and closer... Cmon guys, Ichiro can't do it all by himself. Maybe Griffey will put up some numbers. I thought that was kinda cool that Griffey went back to Seattle. I thought it was pretty damn cool that one of the best players to play the game wore a White Sox Jersey for a season. |
|
Just hoping the Rangers can make the playoffs. If pitching settles in we have a chance, but the Angels are still a really good team.
Can we have an official opening day thread? We should have everyone going to opening day around the country take a pic and post it in a thread. That would be cool. I'm in. |

Yankees! |
I'm already fucked.
I split season seats with a long time ticket holder ,and it has always been pretty fair. I get the evens, he gets the odds. I have a friend that only goes to day games, and I give her all of mine, for the past 4 years. My partner in the plan doesn't go to day games either, so always sent them my way, in exchange for whatever. Last year, he started hosing me on the day games, and taking good tix from me, in exchange for day games. Mariners wed day game would be exchanged for a Yankees Friday night game, 2 weeks away... This year I said, I want to go back to every other game. He came back to me and said he had a disabled, retired friend that wanted 2 seats to 10 games, and he didn't have it in him to give away any more seats. Right. So he cherry picked my seats, and took every NYY, Redsucks, and Friday night game, and took 2 of those. I told him, well, ok, but I have in the neighborhood of a 1800 credit. If you want to just make this even, chuck in whatever day games you aren't going to. I'll pay it forward. OK.... No shit. He then did the same thing he did last year. He gave me day games, and took the best games at his discretion. He is going to be really surprised next year when I'm out. |
|
Dawn, it's going to be a long season if you're not happy with your tickets. Can you get him to fix it now before the season starts? Even and odd seems fair to me. If you and he are paying the same price for seats, there's no reason he should get all the good games. BTW, my oldest son went to the the Angels - Padres preseason game last night with his girlfriend. I watched it on Channel 13. Good game. |

Let's go STL–––––––– Can't wait to see how Shoe develops at the keystone!!!!!!

My NL west looks to be dominated by the dodgers. I predict the dodgers win NL west, D backs or Rockies in second, but not good enough to secure a wild card slot. I can't wait for my rockies to further devolope some more talent then trade them off during their prime. |

M-E-T-S, mets, mets, mets, mets....
Things are looking pretty promising... Althought I am pissed that I have to set foot in the God forsaken place that is NY just to go see the first game at Citi Field... Oh well, I'll just have to find some way to enjoy myself...

My heart is with my team the St. Louis Cardinals! So far we look good, even if we don't make the playoffs I think the season will be fun and exciting.
Preseason pick as disgusting as it is would be for a subway series between the Mets and Yankees; simply for the amount of money spent! |

So far so good rotation looks really good, offense should be very productive, ya we've got questions bullpen and second but Skip is doing alright and bullpens are always questionable. The great thing is if we exceed expectations and are in this thing we've got pieces that could be moved to sure up weaknesses. Even if we don't get a championship it would be so great to beat out the Cubs, I'm so sick of all the pundits picking them, I said it last year and I'll say it again this year, I just don't think they're that good; last years record was somewhat of a fluke....look at the playoffs! |

Its not a good negotiating place when you have a credit. He owes me money from last seasons playoffs that I bought into, and only was able to see one game. When you buy into post season, you have to pay as though you are playing the tie-breaker game, and have home field throughout every series. The World series tickets (4) alone are 600.00, and you have to pay that up front to secure your seats. I paid him the past 2 years for 2 seats for every game through the series. Thing is, the Angels only credit HIS account, as the season seat holder, and I have to wait until the next season to get tickets, and some of my money back when we go out early. Last 2 years we went out early, so the ball was in his court as far as how he wanted to split things up. I'm disappointed in him, and how he has handled this credit the past 2 years. He used it to his advantage, instead of splitting things up like he used to, when he wanted a check from me. I'm not buying into post season this year. I'll buy the seats as I can from other sources if we get in. He can then offer me odds or evens again the following year, or find a new partner. And, in this climate, he might make a better deal for someone who pays on time, and is pretty easy going about trades and such. Or not...? |

For future reference, this might be fun to look at in a few months. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/Iron_Airship/422.jpg LOL I just saw that. I hope to see the cubs move further down the list. GO White Sox! |

For those who don't know the Cardinals are now THREE games up on the Cubs! ![]() Wo0t. Card/Cubs are 2-2even right now. 3-2 Albert Pujols is not human. Today's grand slam mirrored the one he did two weeks ago. Bases freshly loaded and he hits it fucking long on the first pitch. Cards are 13-5 with a series against the Nationals in the near future. |

No Pujols isn't human. Watching him must be like it was watching Babe Ruth, just in his own league! I know it's early but 13-5 with a four game lead over the "favored" Cubs who are 8-8, feels good. |

I'm pretty disappointed with my Rays this year. I thought we were going to have a much better year.
I'd like to know what's happened to our pitching staff. Shields, Garza, Sonnanstine, Balfour, Wheeler are all having horrible years. Sonnanstine got demoted to AAA even. I don't see the playoffs this year for us. We may make a run during the 2nd half of the season, but I think we will just miss the Wild Card. |

I's be happy with my Yanks winning the division, but a wild card berth would be fine too. |

They didn't execute in a number of different areas, most notibly, pitching. |
