I want to purchase a new, manual-winding, Omega watch.

I have lusted for a 'moon watch' for years but have decided to
acquire a more limited-feature timepiece.

Any recommendations?

Speedmaster is perfectly cool

Perhaps an Anniversary Edition?

Speedmaster. get what you originally wanted. You will not be happy unless you do.

This is the Omega that I have, it's the Seamaster Chronograph.

I've only owned one Omega and it wasn't cheap.  And so far I'm not sure I'd do it again.  Reasons are I paid a lot for a watch that is a Seamaster Professional Chronometer.  Supposedly accurate and keeps time.  Mine did not.  Lost several minutes every week.  I had the dealer send it back.  It took over 4 months to get it repaired.

Second issue is, I sometimes worry about wearing it as an attractant to thieves.  Not so worried in the states but I spend a lot of time in Thailand.  Only saving grace there is most of them probably think it is fake.

If I were to do  it over again I would get a battery powered one that is water proof and durable.  And not too thick.  Opinions will vary.  Although, I still love the look and feel of mine.  Titanium band/case with rose gold trim.  And yes, it IS jewelry.

I have a 2254.50, which is based on the old Ministry of Defense design, and really like it.

Stick with the Speedmaster, you might get something else, but you'll always want that one. Mine's been working great for 5 years now.

Excellent choice, the best $6,000 watch you can buy for $2,000

I have a  seamaster and want a speedmaster.  They rock.  I tested my seamaster against the atomic clock and it was within a second over 24 hrs! Omega is the  best 5k watch you can buy for 2k.  Planet ocean is the shit if you have a big enough wrist.

I want the speedmaster Moon watch... I'll eventually get it.  I have the Seamaster and love it.  Needs a servicing though, losing a lot of time.  That is the downside to an auto... the maintenance.

Watchmaker here. Hard to go wrong with the Moonwatch. If you want a new, handwind Omega, it's the watch to get.

What other features are you looking for? Omega tripledate auto's are nice too, but are autos. Though you can handwind them too.

Good choice of brand, regardless. Omega produces quality products without ridiculous markup.

I concur. The only real improvement made to a mechanical watch escapement in 100 years is in the new Omega (George Daniels designed) coaxial movements. But the OP wants a handwind, and "more features" than the Moonwatch chrono...so, it's probably off his radar.

So who has the best prices on Omegas?

ARH

The gray market has the best prices on Omegas, but if anything breaks during your waranty period you'll have to pay out of pocket.

Seamaster Chronometer, with the black face, FTW.

Why do people like manually wound watches?

Yep. I fucking LOVE my Seamaster 300M. It's a work of functioning art. Next on my list is a Planet Ocean with the orange bezel and stainless band....mmmm.

I don't know. The lack of a rotor is the only thing separating me from a PAM 112.
