The closing and hasty destruction of Meigs Field is a serious rallying cry to many private pilots all around the country. Their fields are being increasingly encroached and eyed for future "development". |

Mayor Daley's original reason for the hasty closing was "safety" and to prevent terrorist attacks. This turned out to be pure bullsh!t. He, and his cronys, soon started commercial development of the confiscated property. Mayor Daley needs to go! |
Yep. He's been repeatedly fined by the FAA for not providing any real type of notice before the closure. That, and the fact that Daly had the field monitored for weeks before the closure so that he could ensure that the remaining planes could fly out on the taxiway. |
