I don't know much about it and was inspired by the opera girl thread.

Post some links or favorite youtube videos.

OP your IM message box is full.

Here's some opera for ya!

Vide cor Meum: Sarah Brightman

ETA This melody was featured in TWO Ridley Scott movies: "Hannibal" and "Kingdom of Heaven." It hasn't been published as a full-featured opera yet.

IMO, the greatest vocal song ever written. Nessun Dorma from Puccini's "Turandot"

Meah... I use Chrome or Firefox mostly.

I liked Repo: The Genetic Opera, but I have to go back to the staples.

I used to, but with a netbook Opera is the shit, toolbars take up the least amount of space.

Do you get a program or something at the opera. I imagine you get the gist of whats going on but I'd hate to be completely lost.

Most of the time the translations are displayed on a screen somewhere above or below the stage and the nicer places have them in the seat back in front of you so you can understand what's being said.

Most Operas are pretty simple stories so they're easy to follow.

A libretto is what you refer to.
