Nice!!!! -SS Eh, in all seriousness, if the U.S. were to actually invade Mexico, the first party to use a nuke would almost certainly be Mexico. A little study, both of history involving invasions of one country by another, and of those countries which possess weapons grade enriched uranium, would be in order. Suffice to say, any putative invasion of Mexico by the U.S. would be the above mentioned Bad Idea. We would quite possibly emerge victorious in the event of unrestricted conventional warfare (though it would be quite a long struggle,) but we would almost certainly face the nuclear destruction of several major U.S. cities, along with the near total loss of diplomatic standing in the world at large. The facts that lead me to believe the above are readily available, and most can even be viewed online with only moderate searching. ETA: Just to be perfectly clear, the sovereign nation of Estados Unidos Mexicanos possesses the means and materials to construct nuclear weapons in a very short time. They agreed to give up those means and materials *one year ago,* but the treaty that would allow this has not been approved yet. I suspect it never will be. As a further note, they would be within their rights to employ nuclear weapons to resist a foreign invasion. As such, and as stated, any fantastical invasion of that nation by ours would be idiotic in the extreme. |
