| Have you ever surfed online forum postings and threads and found out someone you knew was a poster? Like the post they wrote gave you clues that it was in fact someone you knew in real life? Was it surprising what they wrote or what you expected? |

Found out a "friend" of mine is a theif. Stole an expensive car part from me/my friends garage (where we were working on it at the time) and the guy stopped by one night at a party. Saw it in the garage, then next time I went over there to finish it up a bunch of shit was gone. Friend thats the homeowner thought I did it. Saw it for sale about 2 year later. Stupid enough to post unique pictures that I knew it was mine, I knew it was in said "friends" shop behind his house, username was his girlfriend at the times name with his DOB and location.
So yes, I found out a poster, whom I didn't "know" before was not only a "friend" but the fucking theif that stole from me/homeowner friend. |

That would be Persec, not Opsec. Beat me to it. Still waiting for someone to ask about OPSEC in regards to emanations from their cell phone and for someone else to talk about using cryptography and keys as part of OPSEC. I mean... jesus christ folks, 2 seconds on google will tell you all about the various *SECs. |

Did anyone get fired over that stuff? That involved some really senior folks in the Intelligence Community. |
