Going for budget here. I have a huge Nikon 4-16x that fits and works great, but looking for a budget priced quality red-dot / holo

ETA... and something that's in stock!!  lol... I can find both of those in stock on several sites

Which reticle do you like better?  And do you ever use your rifle for anything rough?

My preference is the Aimpoint PRO - it's robust, simple 2 MOA dot, plenty of field of view, quick acquisition, battery life is forever, easy to use BUIS with it.

EOTech 512 - it's not as robust, has a busier reticle (not a bad reticle - it's still okay), plenty of field of view, quick acquisition, battery life sucks - but uses AAs, easy to use BUIS with it.

I've seen a lot of dead EOTechs (usually the AA models that are NVG capable - 552, IIRC) due to the weaknesses of the overall design (almost always involving the battery pack) than I have dead Aimpoints.  I haven't ever used the XPS, but that seems like it might be a sturdier design.  If it's your personal one, I'm sure you'd take better care of it than issued ones I've seen, but it's still worth considering.

I see Midway has comp ML2 in stock. Not a bad price either.  I don't want a 4 moa dot though.

This is like asking a room full of angry drunks about religion. I have both and like both for various reasons, Aimpoint is rock solid and durable that is why it is on my go to gun. The thing about Aimpoint is you get what you pay for and then some, look at GG and G they have mount and comp 2 combos it is worth the ext money for the confidence of knowing the motherfucker will always work

Suggest Aimpoint Comp M4s it runs on AA batteries.  Typically the battery in any model of aimpoint last a long time. The EOTech uses batteries more often. The EOTech has a wider field of view and a different reticle. Now for the winner >>>======>  Trijicon Compact ACOG it has tritium and fiber optic so no battery and the glass is clearer and brighter particularly noticible in low light 1.5x with the red crosshair

Just ordered the Aimpoint PRO. Fits the budget for now, of course I'll have to use it to see how I like it. If I hate it I'm sure I can sell it to finance something better. I'll post up pics and my thoughts.

Thanks for the replies!!

They have something comparable? I'm open to anything in the PRO price range. Though I've ordered a PRO now, so I'll be trying that first off.

But does Primary have something in that range?

Not with the battery life of the Aimpoint.

Save a hundred and fifty bucks or so and look into Lucid HD7.

Just mentioning a bang for the buck red dot sight.  You can't go wrong with the Pro.  You'll be happy.

The AP PRO was waiting for me when I got home tonight. Got it mounted and I really like the lower 1/3 co-witness, the dot is right on top of the front post. I may reverse the base though. That knob sticking out on the left side kinda bugs me..

I can't wait to get out and try it. And expend some of my precious, precious ammo..
