My experience...
Decent return policy...from Afghanistan you just have to get to a big FOB with a post office. Was real easy for me to trade out my boots. Shitty shipping prices to Alaska. A loophole on that is they offer free shipping on the products they sell on EBAY. Stock situation sucks bad and the website does not reflect what they have. This thread reminds me that I need to cancel a back ordered item. |
| they were good to me. I just saw a gentleman who raised an issue with their CS over on another forum. A gentleman who either owns or manages opticsplanet responded immediately taking his info and said he would resolve the issue ASAP. Can't argue with that. Mistakes are made in all business, it's how they are rectified that truly shows how that company operates. |
As others have mentioned, contact them to make sure what you want is actually in stock before ordering. Their website does not have any kind of inventory updates on it and they don't tell you until after you place the order. I ordered a stock from there, got told a day or so later it was out of stock, but would be in stock in two weeks. I waited 2 weeks and was then told it would be another month before the manufacturer would ship to them. Pissed me off as I would have ordered elsewhere had I known that the first time around. A certain other site does the same thing and gets bashed on here, but it seems to be ok if Optics Planet does it. Sad thing is I've ordered several times from the company whose name can't be spoken here and never had any issues. I can say that OP's customer service is good as they promptly responded when I told them to cancel the order.

Quoted: If you don't mind paying full retail, they're usually GTG. Too pricey for me. The optics I've gotten from them have been the cheapest price I've been able to find from anywhere other than used. Also, very good customer service. ETA: I've had to go through their return process and it was reasonable. Red dot showed up with a messed up glaze, returned with a prepaid ups label, got another one fairly quickly. |

Would not order from again.
Ordered a Vortex scope that I assumed was in stock. Got an email AFTER I ordered stating it should ship around X date, some 4 weeks from the order date. X date comes and goes, I contact customer support and they said I would have to wail longer. I cancelled and got the scope from Primary Arms. I know that Vortex stuff was super hard to get at the time, but having a web site store in 2012 without a real-time inventory system is a joke to me, very misleading. Stay away. |
